Hello fellow animals…

I’m Alison! I am an RYT-200 Yoga Alliance certified teacher whose personal practice has spanned the last 15 years. I completed yoga teacher training at Sun and Moon Yoga in August 2020. I love to share asana, folklore, mudra, meditation, pranayama, yoga philosophy, and writing with students and readers of all ages to encourage connection with themselves, their fellow human and beyond-human beings, and with nature. I especially believe in the power of yoga and mindfulness practices to help us embody the experiences of others, promoting curiosity, compassion, and environmental stewardship. My teaching is largely inspired by the natural world, and I like to practice outside to connect to place, the present moment, and to other living beings.

I write mostly about human-wildlife coexistence and human relationships with nature. I am also a bookseller at The Open Book, director of the Human-Beaver Coexistence Fund, and former primatologist.
